Everything that exists in the universe also exists in us. Our bodies have the same mineral elements, such as phosphorus, water, iron and calcium, the same vegetable substances, and all of these elements of the animal kingdom as well. In addition we also possess all of the characteristics of the spiritual world: comprehension, rapture, contemplation and adoration. Nevertheless, we are more spiritual than physical because we are consecrated to our Creator, and the spiritual only finds its proper place in what is spiritual.
People often travel in order to see palaces and castles, art museums, beautiful cities, and expositions, to hear famous orchestras and see plays and talented actors, and to gaze upon fields in flower, snow capped mountains, green rivers and blue seas. All of this wonder exists as an infinite dimension in God, who is the true object of our quest; and it also exists in ourselves when we allow the divine rays of light and beauty to stream through us.
When someone speaks of a Christ-like behavior, many people think that it means having to adopt a certain type of conduct, when all it acquires is to simply allow the image and semblance of God that is already in us to appear in our lives. To achieve this, we have only to stop fighting against what we truly, basically, essentially, are.
